EASY HOLIDAY READS

Here’s 10 reads I’d recommend for holidays. They are all quick reads, light-ish, happy stories and nothing to taxing on the brain. If you don’t read often these will be a perfect place to start for you.

10. Happy Place by Emily Henry – What can I say , the story is about  Harriet and Wyn, who are the perfect couple and stay with a group of friends for the weekend. Although this book wasn’t my favourite I was so invested I had to keep reading to find out how it ended. I read this in 3 days….

9) Only Love Can Hurt Like This by Paige Toon – Another love story, Wren knows her feelings are growing stronger but what Wren doesn’t know is that Anders has been harbouring an earth-shattering secret and if he acts on any feelings he has for Wren it will have serious fall-out for everyone. I was invested from the start, I got a bit bored in the middle but there was a couple of twists that kept me going but I really loved the characters and wanted to see them survive their troubles, I had a little cry towards the end and I enjoyed the outcome of the book. The book did live in my head for a couple of days after which is a good thing…..

8) Just for the Summer by Abbey Jimenez – This story follows Justin and Emma, Justin has a curse, every time he dates a girl, they break up and she finds the love of her life! His story goes viral and Emma slides into Justin DM’s as she has the same curse and they both come up with a bonkers idea to find their perfect partners. However, things happen over the summer which  prompts the question, are THEY the perfect couple. I loved this book because it was a story we hadn’t heard before would highly recommend……

7) The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand  –  This starts with a heartbreak when Hollis’s husband is killed in  a car crash.  The book continues with Hollis organising a weekend for all her close friends from different stages of her life (The Five-Star Weekend). Hollis’s asks her daughter Caroline to film the entire weekend… This book jumps stays in the present and describes memories from the guests. We find out something about one of the guests which is a great twist in the book.

6) Flat Share by Beth O’LearyTiffy and Leon share a flat, Tiffy and Leon share a bed. Tiffy and Leon have never met….I’m just going to leave you there, but say it’s definitely worth a read…..

5) Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid – In a nutshell, it’s about a girl who was given her moment by an established band, and then walked away a star, BUT WHY? When reading the book you could just visualise everything seventies so I highly recommend reading it and letting your imagination do the work,  then bring it all to life with the Prime series.  It’s written in interview style which took me a minute to get used to but once I’d got used to it I couldn’t imagine reading this book any other way. This book is a reminder that the timing of things isn’t always right but if it’s meant to be the timing will show up at some point.

4) The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – OMG what can I say, this was just the best, and you all loved it too.  Evelyn Hugo a famous movie star recounts her life from the  1950s to her decision to leave show business in the ‘80s, and, of course, mentions her  seven husbands along the way. Monique the young girl who is writing the story is linked to Evelyn in a surprising way, read the book and see if you can guess the connection…..

3) It Ends With Us By Colleen Hoover, is the first book in a sequel, a fabulous love story! I just couldn’t put this book down. It’s about Lily, a florist and Ryle, a neurosurgeon, I’m already hooked! Ryle has a dark aversion to Lilly’s past relationships which causes her to think about her past love Atlas, what a name I love him already!! I really enjoyed  the relationship between the three of them.  Of course it finishes on a cliff hanger so you have to read, book 2   It Starts with Us, I recommend you read it straight after…..

2) It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover – This was a really good read but not a momentous page turner like book 1, although together they make a strong 5/5.   This book  is written from Atlas’s point of view, revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love.  Ryle is the father of her daughter so still in her life, but will he ever change, will he allow Lily her 2nd chance at love? Will Atlas and Lily make it  2nd time around? If you want to know read the book and find out!…..

1) Never Greener by Ruth Jones – I love Ruth Jones, and I loved this book! The characters are just so good, Kate has a successful settled life, but the runs into Callum the man who broke her heart 17 years ago. Will they both risk their lives to rekindle their love? Or do they find out that the grass is never greener on the other side? Read the book and find out, you won’t be sorry.

We highly recommend a kindle for travel…
