Very Easy Jelly and Evaporated Milk Dessert

This is another favourite from my childhood and is the easiest recipe you will ever make!
Makes: 6 Servings
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 0 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes

Equipment:

  • 1 Serving Bowl
  • 1 Hand Whisk

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkt Jelly mix (flavour of your choice, e.g., strawberry, orange, or raspberry)
  • 1 tin 170g or 410g evaporated milk

Instructions:

  • Follow the instructions on the jelly packet, and reduce the water by the amount of evaporated milk you’re adding
  • Add your evaporated milk, whisk or stir very well so that the milk and jelly combine
  • Pour into smaller bowls or set in one big bowl, up to you
  • Cover and place in your fridge to set for 2-4 hours

Tips / Notes

When whisking the jelly and milk together, you can use either a hand whisk or an electric mixer, the key is to ensure the mixture is thoroughly combined and smooth.
If you do not combine the jelly and milk well enough they will separate. Although this is a very tasty way to eat it as you get a jelly and a milky layer, best of both worlds!!
A greta alternative to the evaporate milk is yoghurt, which I actually prefer.
For a fruity twist, try adding drained tinned fruit like fruit cocktail or mandarins. Just be careful not to add any extra liquid, as this can prevent the jelly from setting properly.
