When do you need drawer dividers
what are they useful for?
The main point of drawer dividers is to make sections in your drawers to store various things. I mainly use them for clothes but they also work great in the kitchen.
A great example of where they have become very useful for us is in Arthurs drawers. Being 6 years old, his clothes are a lot smaller. This means I can get more than one type of clothing in one drawer. Making the drawer more efficient. In one of his drawers I have t-shirts, trousers and shorts. The drawer dividers keep them in their sections, tidy, organised and nice to look at.
In the kitchen you might want to use drawer dividers to tidy up your tea towels. Another option is to create compartments for utensils.
Lastly drawer dividers can just be completely aesthetic. They make drawers look more beautiful and the after value of that is you are more motivated to keep things clean and tidy.
1. Standard Drawer Dividers
my personal fave
The standard drawer dividers are my personal fave. I think you can find them at a good price and the length and height most drawers need.
They work on a lock to extend so are better for drawers with a weaker back. Please check the length and measure your drawer to check they fit.

2. Bamboo Drawer Dividers
get the wooden look
Bamboo drawer dividers (uk link / usa link) are a great alternative to plastic drawer dividers. Disclaimer, they do come in plastic packaging though!
There are 2 other features of the bamboo drawer dividers that may create you some after value and help you decide if these are right for your home. Firstly they are short, so great for shallow drawers and smaller clothes such as underwear and baby clothes. Secondly they are on a spring fixing so they will fit perfectly in most drawers just be careful if your drawers have a weak back.
You can also shop different colours and lengths so make sure you measure!

3. Clear plastic drawer dividers

Made famous by The Home Edit ladies these drawer dividers are the most popular. From a practical point of view these are my least favourite as I find the lock fiddly, they are also the most espensive. Having said that t if a beautiful aesthetic is what you’re looking for you will get your after value with these.
You can buy super tall ones which I used in my old kitchen where the drawers were very deep.
