Spring is the perfect time for a fresh start and nothing feels better than an organised, clutter-free home. A “spring reset” isn’t about perfection; it’s about creating a space that feels calm, functional, and easy to maintain. The best way to tackle it? One room at a time!

Start with a plan
Before diving in, take a moment to walk through your home and identify the areas that need the most attention. Trying to do everything at once can feel overwhelming, so focus on one room per day or weekend. Small, consistent progress is far more effective than a rushed overhaul. Slow and steady always wins the race!

Living Room: Clear and Calm
The living room is often the heart of the home and a magnet for clutter. Start by removing anything that doesn’t belong in the space. Old magazines, misplaced items, and unused décor can all go. Use baskets or storage boxes to neatly contain essentials like remotes, throws, and cables. Keep surfaces minimal to create a more relaxing environment.

Kitchen: Function First
A well-organised kitchen makes everyday life easier. Begin by clearing countertops and only keeping out what you use daily. Go through cupboards and drawers, discarding expired items and donating anything you no longer need. Group similar items together baking supplies, snacks, cookware so everything has a logical home. Really think about how you use your kitchen and that will inform where you decide to put your things.

Bedroom: Restful and Reset
Your bedroom should feel like a sanctuary. Start with your wardrobe: if you didn’t wear it last season, consider donating it. Swap out heavy winter bedding for lighter layers and use under-bed storage for out-of-season items. Keep bedside tables simple, just the essentials, to create a calm, uncluttered feel.

Bathroom: Streamlined and Simple
Bathrooms can quickly become overcrowded with products. Check expiry dates and dispose of anything you no longer use. Use drawer organisers or small containers to separate items like skincare, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. A tidy bathroom not only looks better but also makes your daily routine smoother.

Hallways and Entryways: First Impressions Matter
These spaces are often overlooked but make a big difference. Add hooks, baskets, or a small storage bench to keep shoes, bags, and coats organised. Keeping this area tidy sets the tone for the rest of your home. Think about how you’d like to walk in the door after a long day at work, when I talk about first impressions I’m meaning your own!
