
Very Easy Egg Poaching: How to Use a Silicone Egg Poacher
Quick, foolproof egg poaching using only a silicone egg poacher
Prep Time 2 minutes
Cook Time 4 minutes
Equipment:
- Oxo Good Grips Silicone Egg Poacher
- Pan
- draining spoon
Ingredients:
- 1-2 Fresh Eggs, the fresher the better
- 1 Splash of white wine vinegar optional
- Salt & Pepper to tase
Instructions:
- Add water into a pan so that it reaches the fill line on your silicone egg poacher, about 2-3cm
- Bring the water to a simmer, small bubbles, at this point you can add a splash of white vinegar to help set the eggs quicker
- Place your silicone poacher into the simmering water, if its new add a light brush of oil
- Gently crack your egg into a bowl or cup
- Carefully pour the egg from the bowl into the silicone poacher one at a time
- Let the eggs poach, 3-4 minutes for a runny egg and 4-5 minutes for slightly firmer
- Once cooked, scoop your egg from the poacher with a slotted spoon, let it drain, and set it on your plate, perfectly poached and ready to enjoy
Tips / Notes
I am not really an egg lover, but toasted sour dough with avocado and a poached egg is just too good to resist.
