From bestselling romances to thrilling stories and beloved classics, these book-to-screen adaptations coming in 2026 are definitely ones to watch. Of course you’ll need to read the book first if you want to tick off the “has a movie adaptation” square of our 2026 reading CHALLENGE. 1. Wuthering heights

The story is full of twists, manipulation, and shocking reveals. excellent easy read!
I read this on holiday in 2 days. This came out in cinemas in December 2025 but it’s a good one, so adding to our options.

A book so unhinged I couldn’t put it down and have always been torn whether it’s right to recommend this book or not. I read it in 3 hours so you can get your reading numbers up with this one.

5. The Five-Star Weekend by elin hilderbrand
Something tragic happens to famous food blogger Hollis at the very start of the book. But the weekend doesn’t turn out to be a joyful Hallmark movie.
Great book, easy read and Nantucket is now on my list of places to visit!
