How to sell
Step 3: Take Good Photos
You can use the Vinted camera or, your own phone and easily upload those photos. I find the Vinted option struggles to focus close up especially when I want to photograph labels. So I prefer to use my own Iphone camera and upload to the item
- Use natural daylight
- Hang your clothes or lay flat to photograph
- Remove any bits of fluff as they are magnified on camera especially on dark colours
- Show front and back and any special features such as belts and ties
- Include size labels plus washing and material labels
- If the item is new ensure you photograph the labels
- Photograph any marks and mention them in your description
What you must do is photograph your clothes in the best condition possible, ensure they are clean and wrinkle free and if you have time to debobble, great, do it. For speed use a steamer to get rid of any creases
Step 4: List your items:
- Upload photos
- Add a title to make it stand out, add an emoji, although sometimes Vinted will let you and other times it won’t, but worth a try
- Select the brand
- Add the size, if the Vinted sizing doesn’t match your item, also write it in the description, ie this is oversized and would also fit a 16
- Describe the condition, use the Vinted description to guide you
- Set your price, set a realistic price that will allow you to negotiate with the buyer
- You can sell clothes or home items, checkout the T&C’s if your not sure
Step 5: Simple pricing tips
- Fast fashion sells cheaper
- Designer brands sell higher
- Check similar sold items, however these may not be in as good condition as yours
- People on Vinted love bargains
Step 6: Sellers offers:
- You can choose to accept, or decline and offer your own price, which they may or may not accept.
- Once you both agree a price accept and its time to post
- The buyer will send you a postage label, printable or digital this will be a method based on your postal settings, ensure you have chosen your preferred posting methods in the settings
- You will also be sent an email with at the bar code or printable lable

Step 7. Shipping:
- As a seller, go to your Settings, choose Postage, and turn off any delivery methods you do not want to use. For example, if you do not have an InPost Locker nearby, you can toggle that option off, and buyers will not be able to choose it at checkout. However, keep in mind that offering fewer postage options may put some buyers off, so it is worth keeping as many convenient options available as possible
- Ensure you choose the correct size package, the larger the package the more your buyer will need to pay
- Checkout the packaging T&C’s as if there is damage to your package through you not packing it correctly Vinted will only refund your buyer not you!
- Most people use the self sealing bags which are nice and secure, for breakable items think bubble wrap
- You can also use tissue, for the delicate items and stickers are also a lovely touch

Pro Tip One
I photograph the item partially inside the mailing bag before sealing it, so there is proof of what was packed. I write the buyer’s name across the sealed edge of the parcel and take a photograph as additional proof that the package was securely sealed before posting. I also photograph parcels when they are placed in the locker or handed over at the Post Office. I started doing this after a brand-new jacket, with tags, failed to reach the buyer. The packaging arrived, but the jacket was missing. This extra step provides further evidence that the item was posted correctly.

Pro Tip Two
These badges are worth earning because they help build trust with potential buyers. For example, the Quick Shipper badge shows that you post items promptly, which can encourage buyers to purchase from you with confidence.
There are also badges for regularly uploading new items. These signal that your account is active and can encourage shoppers to browse your listings more often, helping you attract more views and potential sales.

Final thoughts
I hope you found this guide helpful. While there are plenty of other platforms where you can sell your items, such as Depop, Facebook Marketplace, and eBay, many of them charge selling fees or commissions, whereas Vinted does not. If you’re simply looking to clear out your wardrobe and make some extra cash rather than build a full-time reselling business, sticking to one platform is often the easiest option.
Happy selling and good luck with your first Vinted listings!
